Presidents' LetterHearing the students at the ISSMA (IndianaState School Music Association) Organizational Contest this morning, April 17, was a real treat. It was also a great feeling that the judges liked their performances. Both the Orchestra and the Band received Division 1 ratings with most of the scores in the "1" category - the highest category! After the performances, they both did a "sight reading," and received top scores for that too! This is the Orchestra's second year to receive a Division I rating, underscoring how well our students compare with other schools on the state and regional levels. We have every right to be very proud of them. (Presidents' Letter - continued) Notes from the Director - It’s a Girl! The big news this month is the arrival of Tom and Libby Landrum's new baby. She was born at 5:20 pm, April 10, weighed 5 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 18 and a half inches long. She has lots of long, dark curly hair, and looks just like her older sister. Mom and baby did well despite the arrival five and a half weeks early. Volunteer OpportunitiesWorkers for Drop Off, Garage Sale - Helpers needed to unload, price, ar-range and beautify before the sale; workers during the sale; and workers to break down, clean up and load the Goodwill truck post event. Any amount of time would be greatly ap-preciated. Also, we need baked goods donations from all Band families. Market Day - Anyone who could leave flyers in their workplace, church, etc, please contact Mary Jean Schlegel, 873- 9724, or Paula Randall, 873-4137. New Officers Elected for 2004-05
